this crazy operation's aim to help rescue the international festival of documentary NodoDocFest that, now in its fourth edition, was in danger of closing its doors: the idea we came up with talking Fabrizio Arpesella, soul of the festival, who with great courage, decided to continue the fourth year, whatever the cost, counting on the public domain and launching the operation "add a step" .
Already collaborators NodoDoc (Artelier Mécano are the three prizes for the 2008 ...), could not escape the call, and here we are at hand make covers for the 300 limited edition catalogs!
Thus, together with Fabrizio, Claudio Fulgeri Domains and Gloria, who have dealt with the graphic composition of the inside pages, we have imagined a catalog that deliberately resembles a fanzine of the 70s, with characters mimeograph and photocopy the effect of dirty, printed in black and white, on paper that costs less, to be bound by, all together to save on printing costs.
Far from any aesthetic research, we chose for the cover picture dirty, real, a piece of reality that those accredited to the festival will bring home all the memory visions of several documentaries in the program this year, using posters and flyers put forward by the past three editions, we have created 600 fragments of wall posters, which is evident in the layering and overlapping of the old posters.
A written NodoDoc4 made a stencil with a spray gloss black, brings us back to the road, a card with stamping "International Documentary Film Festival" and the dates of the event, complete the whole.
In this way we want to be a complaint against the many waste: we have recycled the materials we had at our disposal and print as many copies as there really are. We saved
image, convinced that if the content is valid, everything else can be reduced to the essentials.
image, convinced that if the content is valid, everything else can be reduced to the essentials.
In a difficult period for the Italian culture we have decided to be there anyway, we have rolled up their sleeves and "we're back in the cellar" in a spirit of collaboration and never lose sight of those ideals for which is the penalty to get involved.
COME TO NUMEROUS FESTIVAL 5 to 10 May 2010 in Trieste at the Cinema Ariston.
